IPhone screen messed up? Black and white stripes?

Please READ FULL PARAGRAPH. Okay so I was on my iPhone 4 on the app Snapchat looking at someone's snapchat and then the screen froze on the snapchat for about 15 seconds and then rainbow stripes were all over the screen, then it went white, then black and white stripes appeared, then my phone went off black (It's not completely black like when you lock your phone, just a bluish black) I've held down my lock buttons and home buttons and a bunch of things but nothing will work. My screen isn't cracked and never has been and I haven't dropped it in water or anything like that. My phone was fine a few minutes ago. It's been like this for about 20 minutes. I'm really scared and really need my phone fixed. What do I do? Do I have to get a new phone? Sorry if the things I said that are happening to my phone don't make any sense. I'm really confused too.

My phone has done that but I just held down the lock button and home button at the same time for 10 sec. It sounds like you may have already tried that:/ unfortunatley it sounds like the screen may have gone out on you. I pod screens are fairly simple to remove. Did you buy this phone used?
