Is 64GB enough for the iPhone 6s?

I'm currently debating about going to iPhone. I have always had Android, but the rest of my family has iPhones. One thing I've always liked on my phone is the ability to use an SD card (I have always chosen a phone with that feature). I can't imagine that the 16GB version would be adequate as app sizes continue to get bigger and kind of wonder why they sell it (maybe to give lower price point) but is the 64GB acceptable. I use GPS stuff for hiking and have to store maps offline. Even the price jump from the 16 to the 64, frustrates me a bit but I don't think I will pay the extra $100 to go from 64GB to 128GB

I'm often in an area with out very reliable data or internet.

You are right. 16GB is not adequate for a new iPhone. 64GB is 4 times as much and perfectly adequate for most people.

Stick with Samsung it's unfortunately the iPhone 6s and iPhone don't seem to be a good buy right now. You have to wait till next year before Apple does something different and innovative with iPhone. Right now the best phone is the galaxy s7. It bests the iPhone in every useful category. Switching to a 6s would be a downgrade. At least wait to the the in of the year and look at the iPhone 7, based on rumors won't be very impressive. The reason I said say is because comparing the galaxy s7 to the 6s you lose expandable storage, get a smaller display, lower res display, lose wireless charging, lose fast charging, lose the multitasking, lose the compatible, lose the water resistance, lose the oled display technology, you will give up the best camera available in a smartphone, lose the customization, lose the ability to download any app, lose mst payment system which is Samsung pay that works almost everywhere, lose the 100gb cloud storage etc.

Iphones are better

Well I haven't used android but I expect apps to take about the same amount of space on the iPhone and videos and music obviously use up the exact same so just look at how much space you're currently using on your android phone so you have an idea of the space you'll occupy on an iPhone.

I have a 64gb iPhone and it's enough for me, I have about 21gb left. 8.5gb go to music and rest on apps and photos, I rarely record videos and if I do I pass it over to my laptop. I agree 16gb isn't nearly as enough to enjoy an iPhone but I think they do it to make more people pay $100 more for the 64gb model than stick to 16gb, make their median price of iPhone sales go up and gain more.

If you like to record a lot of videos, specially in 4k and keep them on the phone and not on an external HDD, computer or the cloud, than you might need to get the 128gb model.

  • Should I get a 16 gb IPhone 5s or a 64gb iPhone 5? They cost the same off of at&t.com so i'm faced with the choice of choosing of the 2. I currently have an ipad which is 32gb and i only have 3gb less so i'm not sure if 16gb iphone 5s would be enough. Which one should i get? Is the iphone 5s really that much better than the 5?
