Is having an iPhone 5 considered a luxury?

What's your thoughts and opinions on this?

A disposable luxury. People in Africa are much more interested in food and water.

I'd say so use, I think owning any apply product is a luxury considering how expensive they are

Very much so. The price of one of those could feed a family of 5 for weeks.

No. Owning a cellphone in GENERAL is considered a luxury.
I'd also like to add… Having a iPhone 5 is not a luxury… Having an iPhone 5 AND not having to pay the bill IS the luxury

Not really, you can get them for a good deal with a contract. Iphone 4 is free right now with a 2 year contract. To me its a necessity, its entertainment, security, information, access anywhere, camera, etc, all in 1. I don't go anywhere without it, and when I do forget it when I'm on the road I feel like I better go back and get it just in case.

Technically, I would say yes. But these days, it seems like it's becoming more of a norm.

Having an iPhone 5 is considered a luxury.
Having internet is considered a luxury.
Having a warm bed, strong house, and an education is considered a luxury.
Having food and water everyday is considered a luxury.

It's hard to believe because we're surrounded with it and its become such a norm,
but only 5% of the people in the world actually have the last 2 luxuries.
