As with most phones, they're resistant to light water, such as in rain or if you pick the device up with wet hands, however, if you dropped the phone in water it would not be the same outcome.
If you search the questions here, you will see ZILLIONS that whine about dropping a phone into a toilet, sink, pool, etc. People will not spend a few bucks on a waterproof BAG, let alone a case, to protect their phone - yet they think nothing of carrying it around water, all the time. I carry very expensive musical instruments (my flute alone, over $10K) and electronics every single day of my life, so I have trained myself NEVER to have water and these items near each other - it's just what all of us who are professionals in music do. (Once, many years ago, I got a terrible shock when playing electric flute with a guitarist, when a guest leaned over and spilled a drink into the back up the amp, as we were playing.) If you work/play near any water - get a good case. (I have a $500 militarized FLIGHT case for my flute, used ONLY when traveling under rough packing conditions - or playing.)
Do not *forget* your phone is in your pocket when using the bathroom. Do not leave it on the sink, near the pool edge, etc. I know I sound like you MOMMA - but this is not directed at you personally, just all the crying idiots who write in here asking "So - does RICE work?" If you fear water, dropping, etc. Get a good CASE - and maybe a lanyard or clip-on cable. If you fear viral assault - run a VPN or malware protection. I'm amazed at all the people who will buy something expensive, then do not SAFEGUARD it.

Found a few scratches on the screen after but i wasn't sure if it were from before or from the napkins/paper towel.
