Is it possible to transfer music from one iPhone to another?
Over the weekend, I upgraded my iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5s. The people at Verizon were able to transfer my contacts and pictures, but I completely forgot about asking them if they could transfer my music as well.
Is this possible? Is this something I'd be able to do on my own, and if so, how would I go about doing this?

Yes, it's possible. You can do that by your own. This iOS file manager can help you copy files between iPhone iPod and iPad. Well, if you bought it off of iTunes, you can just log into iTunes n your new phone. From there you can find a tab called "Purchased Music" or something of the sort and download it again.

You can go back and ask them too. They should do it for free. I know sprint does so Verizon should.
If you back it up on a computer, you can do it that way. There's also something called "music match". It's an option on your phone and computer. For $25 a year, you can store up to 25,000 songs in the cloud. And the best thing is that they don't have to be iTunes songs. All the songs I ripped from CDs are in there, as is the music I got off emusic.
You can access them from any of your devices. It is available through iTunes. I really like it and it's worth $25 a year.
