Is it rude to play loud music while camping during non-quiet hrs? - 1

Added (1). I know it is very rude to play loud music DURING quiet hrs, but is it still consider to be rude when it is NOT during quiet hrs? Like some soft, happy, jazz music in the morning( by morning i meant 11AM), or some normal pop dancing music between 2PM to 6PM?
When I say loud music i mean i will use a bluetooth speaker like Beats by dre Pill.
If bluetooth speaker is too loud, then how about the speaker on my iphone?

Added (2). I've always thought loud music will be rude, but every time i go camping, i see some people does it, so i thought MAYBE it is ok to do during non-quiet hrs?

Yes. Not everyone will like your music. Keep it down and respect the other campers.

Yes. It may be illegal. It may be against campground regulations. It may also cause you to be removed from the campground. Getting past the "quiet hours" controls still does not release you from being reasonable and polite. Making excessive noise in a campground can cause a disturbance. The behavior can even affect your employment.

People go camping to get away from the every day annoyances, like traffic, TV and people playing music loudly. Do you have earbuds? Use them. No one wants to hear your music. If you want to listen to music do so, play it so YOU can hear it and no one else. Use headphones or earbuds.

YES! Also long as the person can hear it at the site next door, it's to loud!

If you cause annoyance it's rude.

Yes, any disturbance sound you cause can be considered rude. People are camping to get away from the hustle and bustle of city sounds and annoyances, yes folks like music but their own preferred sounds. So if it can be heard outside your personal campsite it is too loud.

OSHA Regulation #1910.95 Subpart G Permissible Occupation
Noise Exposure applies to whoever is summoned to determine
if loud music is sufficient for law enforcement attention. Music
sufficient for immediate hearing injury is fully realized at 130 db
(decibels - the sound level). Damage and pain begins after 0.25
hour exposure at 115 db. Artillery explosions average at 140 db
and 110 db occurs if standing beside a working diesel locomotive.
Law enforcement usually curbs public noise at 90 db which is also
equal to a police whistle shrieking. Rude gets people an instruction
to pay a fine or have all evidence go to a public courtroom.

Yes, it is very rude. Others may not share your taste in music and many people go camping to enjoy the peace and quiet of Nature, not blaring music. If you feel the need for musical accompaniment for your activities, that is what headphones are for.

There's ear phones to plug into your music devise. They don't allow it on bus trips across country for other passengers consideration. You need to know when you play loud music then half the people will leave and go where it is quiet. We all have different likes for music. Wear your earphones and keep your interesting music to your own self.

  • Why does my iPhone 5s play music out loud, even on silent? When the switch on the side of my phone is switched to silent (red bar showing), my phone will still play music, videos, or sounds from apps out loud unless I turn the volume all the way down using the volume buttons. I thought the silent switch was supposed to prevent any sounds.
