Is the iPhone 4S still worth it?

I know it has almost three years since the release, but still, is it a good smartphone today? I want to buy a new phone, it's been a while since I left my last phone, and I'm really not interested in any other one but iPhone, and the thing making my mind here is… The new iOS 7. I'm really in love with that.

I know this year will be coming out the new iPhone 6, but what happens to 4S?

I think it's important to say, I'm brazilian and here iPhone 4S is something like $700 and 5S something like $1.400. It's ridiculous. But… I need a phone, and I'm looking for this 4S.

I'm gonna use it to callings, internet, mail, Facebook Messenger and etc.

I have a 4S and it is a great smartphone. I use it for everything. The 5S isn't do much better that it is worth the e tea money, especially with the 6 due out this year. You might want to buy a 4S used from someone in the states by looking at Craig's list and Ebay. The only 4S direct from Apple now has the small storage space. Many if the used 4S have the larger storage capacity.

Try buying a phone on contract ; iPhone 4s is not worth it because it is really old

Yea the 4s is fine. Of course not as good as the 5, 5c & 5s but just fine enough for many.

When the iPhone 6 comes out the 4s would be discontinued, but it does not mean it will stop getting updates. That's where the iPhone 4 will stop getting them whereas the 4s should stop at the end of iOS 8's life cycle.

With the release of the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and finally, the iPhone 5c there's always that 'I must upgrade to the latest' feeling out there but there's still plenty of folks wondering if the iPhone 4S is still a good device to purchase, given that carriers that still offer them are giving them away and resale sites like Craigslist, Kijiji and others have plenty of them for sale

I know several people that still have the 4s and they work fine and do not have problems with the apps. I don't like how the 5s need new chargers and adapters for all devices such a docking stations, etc. I know Wal Mart usually has the iPhone 4 for free with a new contract. I'd check there first.
