Is the iPhone 5s still relevant?

I plan on going on a 2 year contract. The 6/6s are too expensive and I much prefer iOS over Android. Is the 5s still worth it? I'm worried it'll have a price drop or be outdated.

You can certainly wait on a 6S - but there's a GREAT difference between the 5s and the 6. If you are someone who uses a reasonable amount of the features on a smartphone now, then I would advise you to get the 6, and really appreciate the difference between it and the previous generations of cellphones. I went from a 4s to a 6, in December of 2104, and it was well worth doing so. I also entered a 2-year contract with ATT (they had been my providers previously, and we waited until our contracts were up, for the best deal). We bought our 6 phones for $150m and took the 2-0year plan with NO additional fees - financially the best when buying from ATT. Sold out old 4S phones on Amazon - they call it a trade-in, because you are paid in Amazon bucks - a better value than cash. WE use our phones for many tings other than just a phone; frankly, I'm considering trading up this December, to a 6 plus, since I have several spreadsheets, etc. That would be easier on my eyes if I had more screen space. I think women are more likely to do this than men, since we carry a phone in a purse; men have theirs in a pocket. Since you are a guy, if you are older (need the vision boost) or will have info-dense things like architectural drawings, hi-rez photos or diagrams, etc. - then by all means get the 6-plus. My good friend lives out in the woods - no cell phone service, no Wi-Fi - so she carries an old flip-phone hat she only turns on when she is traveling. She is thinking of moving closer to civilization - so I will see THEN if I can talk her into something with more features; she says she has no need to change, but then - she has never owned a good smartphone before, either. See if a fried will let you fool around with theirs for a few minutes - you will see what I mean.

IPhone 5S is already free if you sign up for a 2-year contract. It'll be discontinued a year after but you'll still get support after that. So don't worry and get it. It's still a great phone.

If there's to be a price drop it would be next year, though at that point Apple wouldn't be selling the phone new anymore.

It wouldn't be outdated for a while again, years.

  • Will verizon still sell the iphone 4 when the iphone 5 comes out? When the iphone 5 comes out, will the iphone 4 still be available for purchase? Also when will the iphone 5 be released?
  • My iphone's screen will not turn on, but the iphone itself is still on? I have tried holding in the home and top button, I know that the iphone is on because when i press the buttons i can hear the little click noises. It is fully charged, and i have not been able to get it up in itunes, but i can access the music on it through another program. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I do not want to take it in to the store unless absolutely necessary.
