No, iPhones are not designed to transfer data that way
if you need to transfer data to a new iPhone then you either have to create a backup using iTunes and restore from backup on the new phone, or create a backup using iCloud and again restore from backup using the new phone.
The reason for this is because Apple want to keep data as secure as possible, as iCloud and the iTunes backups are encrypted, it stops people from stealing your data, a simple cable transfer would void all of that.

Technically yes, but actually you have to backup the 5 & restore from that backup on the 6 using iTunes. You'd be using the Lightning cable for both.
But if you want to connect both & transfer that way, you can't
