Just switched from android to Iphone?

So yesterday I got an iphone as A gift. A black 4s and the phone I had previously was a Epic 4g, a droid. All I gotta say is WHOA. Lol there's so much i CAN't do: C i can't just download music, edit my home screen however I want. Have an App drawer and take everything else off my screen. I don't understand it honestly XD I heard that "Jailbreaking" your phone allows you to do these things. What is Jail breaking, how can I do it, will it ruin my phone, what is its purpose?

Jailbreaking is like rooting an Android phone, it allows you to do more customization… There's just a lot more that can be done because so much is locked away in the default iPhone setup.

Any time you modify the OS, it can brick your phone, whether Android, iOS, or anything else… So yes, there's a risk. Generally, though, it's a simple process.

The software varies based on your OS version… Just search online for it and you'll find plenty of support for it.

You can download music and ios is better honestly.

Should just go back to android then.

Jailbreaking allows you to overcome apple restrictions on where you get your apps. You can modify the phone once its jailbroken.

Yes, you can jailbreak, but for now, with the latest OS version (6.0), there are no untethered jailbreaks you can use. Untethered is highly recommended over tethered because it doesn't brick your phone if you turn it off and is much more stable.

However, jailbreaking is a much less smooth process than just modifying on android because its all third party. Many things can damage your phone and crash springboard. And the modifications selection isn't exactly great.

So I would say either go back to android or just use it without any of those things.

  • Why does my iphone battery run down when it is switched off? I charged my iphone 3gs just before i went to bed last night and then switched it off (the battery was at 85%) but when i woke up this morning and switched it on it was down to 20% why does it run down so fast if it wasn't even on!
  • When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
