Message over my iPhone: Weak Security. WEP is no considered secure, configure the router to use WPA2 Personal (AES) security type - 1

Do what it says, log into your router and change the security from WEP to WPA2.

Means you are connected to an older model access point that uses WEP encryption. WEP is an inherently broken encryption, and a modern computer running a hacking program can break into it in a few minutes.

You should either switch your Wi-Fi to WPA2 encryption, or if your old Wi-Fi doesn't support it, upgrade your router / access point.

And? You need to do as suggested and change the settings in the Wi-Fi access point (your router).

Plain WEP is outdated. You need to upgrade the router or iPhone. Look for updated router drivers, if possible.

Do what it says then.Connect a pc using a LAN cable, and LOGIN to the router. Then change the Wi-Fi configuration to a WPA2 AES and enter a new psskey. Then that will need applying, and each of your devices will need changing to login again, so to make it more sensible, change the Wi-Fi signal name(SSID) as well so each device has to ReJoin a new network with the new passkey.

Interesting how nobody here has questioned were this message is coming from? What application is prompting this message on your phone? I don't have an iPhone so I'm unsure of their security measures.

You might want to inspect whether the popup is a phishing scam. Then, I would login to your routers interface and change the encryption type to WPA2.

You are connecting to a Wi-Fi access point using WEP as the encyption method, some older or low end routers still allow this. The only issue is WEP is really weak and can be broken with a phone and an app. WPA2 can't yet.So if you have access to the router in question update it please.

Wi-Fi settings on my iPhone says WEP is not secure. But my router is WPA-PSK(AES)
