An emo is not who you are, An emo is a concept that was created before your own birth, you heard or saw other people do it and decided to act like them

Who You are is who you always were, not who you eventually decided to be at a certain stage of your life. You weren't born emo, therefore you are not emo,

if you were the one who created emo only then can you say this is who you are. But you didn't. Emo is not your idea, so it's not you, you're just following other people who act like emos.

and fyi, emo is short for emotional. In this sense, everyone is emo sometimes.
