My iphone 4s got wet and won't turn on what should i do?

Sorry for my bad spelling. My company is sprint. I have an iphone 4s and i bought it off evay so no warranty. I was at the river and my brother tried to take a picture with my phone. He went into the water and was almost drowning then i grabbed him and took him to shore. I then took a look at my brother he was ok but my phone a little wet. It turned on but had some dirt in the recharge hole. None in the earphones plug since my earphones were in it but it looked fine. The botton was stick and hard to use and whenever i shut it off it would trun itself back on. Now its not responding at all and not even while i tried to recharge it. I had notes, pictures and contacts and i'm not sure if icloud got it all is there a way to fix my iphone 4s or at least salvage my memory?

Burry it in a small box filled with rice, make sure there's about 1 inch of rice on the bottom, top, and sides at least. This might sounds crazy but it usually works, the rice absorbs the water. Leave it in the box for at least 24 hours. If that doesn't work, call Sprint for some support of what to do.

Put it in a large container of dry uncooked rice for a few days.

Submerge it in uncooked rice over night. The rice will draw the water out. Hopefully.

Okay, Hun, I know this may Sound Harsh But I think It's time to buy a new one. There's nothing you can do. I guess Iphone4 Cost less now Because Of the Iphone5. That's what I think.

Submerged yr phone in container of uncooked rice for atleast 24 hours or else use silica gel packets, its a best water absorbent.

Sadly, there isn't much you can do.

When phones are liquid damaged they are classed as BER (beyond economic repair).

The inside of a phone is made up of metal parts and circuit boards - meaning the liquid will slowly corrode and rust them. As this can sometimes be a slow process (depending on how much liquid got in the phone) this is why some phones appear to work for a while after getting wet. But they will eventually fail as the corrosion inside stops them working.

Some tips you may read on the internet such as putting it in rice or in the airing cupboard may work in the short term, but the phone will stop working and is irreparable as the inside of the phone will corrode.

If you have insurance on your phone you would be able to claim through it, or maybe you can claim through a home insurance policy. Any type of liquid damage is not covered under the manufacturers warranty.

If you have no insurance plans then I'm afraid your only option is to buy a new phone.

You will probably find that your SIM card and memory card are ok if removed from the phone promptly after the damage occurs.

If the SIM is damaged you can get a free of charge replacement from your network. If the memory card is damaged, unfortunately you won't be able to retrieve its data but you can replace memory cards with new ones.
