My Wi-Fi won't work for some reason?

There was a storm that knocked my router out the other night. The next morning, I got my router re-configured and everything set back up -- except for some reason, the Wi-Fi wouldn't connect through my laptop or iPhone. When I try to connect to the Wi-Fi on my laptop, it shows my connection on the list to choose from with full strength, but when I click on it, I get a window displaying "Windows could not connect to --connection name--". From here, it only gives me the options to either "View Network Settings" - which gets me nowhere - or "View other connections".

My router is a "Comtrend NexusLink 3100u VDSL2 bonded CPE", and I've tried everything that I know of that would fix my problem, but to no avail. I unplugged the router and left it off for a while, then pressed the "Wi-Fi On/Off" button, and pressed it again, but still no success in connecting wirelessly.

On my router, where it says "Wireless", the green button below it is lit up, but it's obviously not working. Why could this be? I even tried going in through my laptop to see if I could configure the network somehow, but I'm really having no luck at all.

Go to Control Panel --> Network & Sharing Center --> Manage Wireless Networks --> Select & Remove the network you're trying to connect --> then reconnect again.

If that does not solve your problem, just follow the instruction above and then reset your router again.

You say you had a storm that "knocked out" your router. The router could have gotten a surge that fried the Wi-Fi circuits. If nothing else you try gets it working, I would suggest a new router.

If I'm reading their webpage correctly, this is a router only. It is not a combo modem/router.
Your described symptoms indicate the modem has 'lost' it's connection with the iSP, due to the storm, and that's the trouble.
Disconnect the router from the modem, and the power.

With the modem power "on" & connected to the incoming Internet line> tether unit to a computer> Open a browser> enter the Admin. Account settings**> find the "connection" (or similar) section> enter your ISP account "Username" and "password"> save the settings.
(Click 'connect' button if any is there.)
Wait a couple of minutes for the ISP to 'resolve' all connection & address steps. Often LED's indicate 'resolving iP' with the iSP (blinking amber light); and when finished, a solid green light indicates 'ready'.
Connect the router to the modem, then power it up.
It also should then go thru the 'resolving iP' (with the modem this time) blinking LED's.
