New iphone 3gs bricked by changing to ipad baseband - will apple be able to tell?
I couldnt get it unlocked from my network so i jailbroke it and tried unlocking with ultrasn0w - at which point everything was fine but the unlock didn't work - i found online instructions saying to change the baseband…
So it has now been bricked by downgrading to ipad baseband (which shouldnt have been done as the baseband chip is not compatible)
I tried restoring using itunes and it said restore failed and now all it will do is show me the 'connect to itunes' screen.
Its brand new - Would apple replace it or will they be able to tell what I did to it?
Added (1). Now it won't do anything other than show the apple screen and itunes isn't recognising it
Put it in DFU mode and rescue it that way
1. Turn your phone off
2. Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your system.
3. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
4. After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. The iPhone screen will remain black
It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long
- Will i be able to unlock iphone 3g baseband on ios 3.1.3 if i update normal mode? I have an iphone 3g jailbroken but the baseband is 6.15.00 which make it unlocked but every time i try to update from 3.1.3 to 4.2 using a custom firmware, itunes returns an error 3914.so i would like to know if i update in normal mode, will i be able to unlock it? And tell me what will be my new baseband
- Updating baseband on iphone 3gs? I jailbroke my phone, and everything worked fine, now i'm trying to update the baseband so I can unlock the sim. Does anyone have a good site or know how to update the baseband? I'm at 05.16.05 right now and I need to be at 06.15.00.
- Iphone 3gs is bricked and the power button is broken, what do I do? I went to check on my iphone and it a black screen so II tried to turn it on but it wouldn't work. (IT WAS 100% Charged!) So I researched what could of happened and apparently it is bricked and I would have to get it into recovery mode, BUT I can't! My power button is broken. Info: It is charged It dosen't respond to itunes.

I tried using snow breeze to make a custom firmware on my iphone 3gs and tried installing the ipad base band, now it turns off and on sometimes, and the weird thing is this iphone has a old bootrom it was made in 2009.i've done many jailbreaks on iphone 3gs made before 2011 and all done successfully but this one has been a nightmare, how can i restore this back to stock, iTunes always gives an error -1.
