You most likely need to reset your connection. Now - this sounds scary, but it works. DELETE your email account. Re-install your email *account* in Settings - Mail. Contact, Calendars. Everything comes back, trust me. You might want to shut off the phone in between, or at various stages - but this was far more common in older iPhone models - but yes, I have had to do it on my 6.
