Personal hotspot cost money? Or included with iphone 5c?
I just got the iphone 5c today and it lets me give out Wi-Fi. My question is am I paying extra for this or is it taking away from my 4GB of data that I have monthly? I have att and live in Ca. I was planning on using the personal hotspot for my laptop to do homework. If it does use my monthly datat how much do you think my laptop would use for an hour of browsing watching videos?
A personal hotspot essentially means that you're letting someone else use your Internet connection. So if you are paying money for your connection, you're also paying money for the other person's use of the connection with the hotspot. If the other person uses the Internet a lot with your hotspot, and you're paying for your Internet connection by data volume, you could end up paying more money for his use.
- Will using my iPhone's hotspot cost extra money? I have an iPhone 4s (which is up to date on all IOS updates) and I have the unlimited data plan at AT&T. I'm leaving for a road trip tomorrow, and I wanted to turn the hotspot on so I could use that Wi-Fi on my laptop during the trip so I won't get bored. It says I need to set up an account for it, which I will do later… But would any extra charges be added to my bill?

- Is the personal hotspot option on the iphone safe? I just learned i can use my iphone as a hotpot and i freaked out! Apparently you go settings, general, network, the it says personal hotspot! So is it safe? More importantly does it cost a lot or free?
