Push Notifications, iPhone 4S?

How do you get push notifcations for Tumblr? Like, when someone reblogs something, likes something, asks a question follows you, is there a way I can get my iphone to notify me without actually having to click on the app?

Here's how to get push notification on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch whenever someone leaves you a message on your Tumblr ask page.

Go to Tumblr preferences and turn on email notifications for "new messages". Also, your Tumblr account needs to be registered with a Gmail account.
Install Boxcar. Sign up for a Boxcar account.
Go to the Boxcar website and sign in.
Go to Add Services and add an email account.
Click the big red "Get Your Boxcar Forwarding Address" button. Copy the forwarding email address you get. Type "Tumblr" or whatever in the "friendly name" box.
Go into Gmail settings, go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, press the "add a forwarding address" button, and enter your new Boxcar forwarding address.
You should get a push notification on your iPhone with a confirmation code. Enter it in the provided verification box in the Gmail settings screen.
Now go to the Filters screen and create a new filter. In "from", enter "notifications@tumblr.com".In subject, enter "asked you a question" (or leave it blank if you also want push notifications for new followers, reblogs, etc.)
Click "next step". Check "forward it" and select the Boxcar address you added and verified a couple of steps before. I also check "skip the inbox" or "delete it" so they don't clutter my email. Save the filter.
That's it. You should get a push notification on your iPhone whenever someone leaves you a message on Tumblr. If you have any questions, just ask.
