RODE Video Mic Pro or NTG-2?
I'm planning to do a short film, mostly out doors, using the Panasonic gh4 and I was wondering what mic I should get. I will be holding it on a boom pole not attaching it to the camera. So out of the video mic pro and the ntg-2 (will most likely get a dead cat) which one should I get. Also I know that the video mic pro isn't the gh4s most favourite mic.
The second question is will I be able to run the mic into my iPhone and record sound on that, or if I have to, record the audio on my laptop, buying an external recorder is not an option, so if one of these mics can't do this then it is out of the question, unless it can record into the gh4.
Anyway any help will be much appreciated.
The video mic pro can connect to most DSLR's directly. You may need some type of extension cable to use it with a pole.
The NTG-2 is probably a better mic (somewhat) but it will need some type of adapter with phantom power in order to work with your camera. The video mic pro gets my vote.
When Hollywood shoots outdoors they don't bother recording audio. The actors dub in the dialog later at the studio using ADR. If you are going to dangle a mic at the end of a pole, then you want it to be the small light weight kind, one that does not need to be accurately pointed. A dynamic omni lav will work best since you won't have to worry about battery replacement.
- Your suggestion for a pro quality video camera with great audio under $500? I work at a trade school we we have weekly guest lectures, presentations, and other events, and we're wanting to take some quality videos to put on our site and elsewhere. Typical iphones and other similar devices are just giving us poor quality, especially audio, so we're looking for suggestions for a quality videocamera under $500, with the most important attribute being good audio pickup.

- Rsim9 Pro issues can't select carrier. How to reset Rsim9 Pro? I'm trying to use Rsim9 pro to unlock my iphone 5 but i picked the wrong carrier. It won't take me back to the "select carrier" page. How do I reset the rsim9 Pro so I can see this page again?
- Iphone mic doesn't work during call? I thought, maybe the mic stopped working completely, but i did facetime with my cousin and she heard me perfectly. The iphone mic its self doesn't work during calls only!
