Should I buy a Camera or an iPhone 5?

Okay, I have a "problem". For christmas my mom told me I could pick whatever camera I want.
But since there's a new iPhone out, and I obviously don't have that, I thought that I would want that rather than a camera.
Though, I have an iPhone 4, but it sometimes freezes and the screen goes black, and the camera is not the best. So my question is, should I buy an iPhone 5 or a camera? And if I should buy a camera - which one?
I'm 16 years old by the way, and I like taking photos, but it's not a hobby of mine at all.

Get a iphone 4s. Its a awesome camera. Its really your call.

I think you should buy an iPhone 5 as the camera on that is really really good! Much better than the 4 and 4S so if you're comfortable using the iPhone get that as you say your current phone is slow so you can get a new phone and camera in one. Win win!

Argh, a phone is a phone. Any camera you want? What an opportunity! I say Canon EOS 60d.

You already have a phone, get a camera. Phones aren't good for photography. I'd look at a Nikon D3100
or Canon Rebel T3.

I prefer buying the iPhone 5, cuz the iPhone 5 has a pretty good camera indeed.
