Only if you can check the ESN or IMEI before the sale, and you have a CLEAR understanding on what if it doesn't work, or is NOT in the condition that the auction states that it is in, of how to get your money back, based on what the ad states. If the ads says the phone works and that it is being shipped AS IS, and while it works it has been beat to hell and back, you bought a beat up scratched phone. If the ad says that the phone is in perfect working order and not a scratch on it, and comes not working, not charging and scratched up, no question, you get your money back.
With any sight unseen device, make sure you get serial numbers and ESN or IMEI before it is shipped and match it up with the device when it arrives, do not test it, do not put your SIM card in it, until you know for afact that the USED device you bought online, matches the Identifying information that you were given, as there have been people that will sell you a device with the ID from a working legit item, but send something else, that was stolen or non working, with all sorts of excuses as to why you got something other than what you ordered. Could be stolen you need to make sure it works, don't you think, use pay pal. If its in good working condition, then yea.

- Is it haram to buy goods not knowing where they come from? So these black guys came to my husband with iPhones etc and asked if he wanted to buy anything and he did. I got angry because I'm sure these people are thieves! I have no proof to say this, but where else would they get it from? I refuse to buy haram or have any haram money. He disagrees.
