Should I shut my iPhone off every night?
If I don't, will it fry the motherboard like any other computer?
Umm depends if you have been using it all day for a long time. But this doesn't normally happens to and iphone. Just make sure Your apps are closed
You don't ever have to shut an iphone off. I haven't shut off my 5S since the day I bought it. My previous iphone I had 3 years, never shut it off either. I just flip that mute switch at night.
No, smartphones don't "fry" when they're left on. If there were "repercussions" for leaving them turned on, they wouldn't be on the market…
Your iPhone can't tell if it's night time, nor is it set to "fry" if it's on at night. Fry from what? Maybe if you dropped it in a hot boiling pot of oil at night, sure…
Leaving your computer on, will not affect the motherboard.
No, phones don't use enough power to cause damage to their motherboard. You can even leave your PC on overnight and nothing bad will happen, especially if you make use of the low-power features from Intel and AMD.
Just like x86 processor vendors, the vendors of smartphone/tablet chips such as Qualcomm, Samsung and NVIDIA all include on-die low-power settings. For example, your phone will turn off data and Wi-Fi when it has been idle for so long and I'm pretty sure the processor itself will go into some low frequency state to reduce battery consumption. Lastly, don't forget the screen brightness auto-dim setting, and eventually, the screen will go off (unless you make it stay on).
That's pretty much as good as it gets with a smartphone or tablet.
- Why does my iphone 4s verizon shut off when at 20%? I use to have the 4s at&t one and it would last until 1% so now shutting off at 20% is really annoying. I'm just curious why it does it on verizon & not at&t. I charge it the same as i always do my iphones. - IPhone 5 Dead every morning after being charged 100% the night before? I always make sure my phone is fully charged before I go to sleep. So I plug it in, it charges, and when it reaches 100% I unplug it and lay it down on my bedside table. Recently, I've been waking up every morning to a dead iPhone. I have to plug it in and wait for it to charge again to make it work. I'm going back to school soon so it's going to be a problem if I have to wait for it to charge every morning. Does anybody know what's wrong with it? What should I do to fix it?
