Just lower the brightness

All points are same from me as the people say i'm also with them.
But its my personal experience donot charge until the phone until a message box appear charge your device or such

Not to use it

I'm assuming you have ios 7

- lower the brightness (pezhumkattil was correct)
- don't use the moving background wallpapers
- turn off the zoom feature (via the accessibility settings)
- turn on reduce motion (via accessibility settings)
- turn off background app refreshing
- turn off background app store updates
- keep phone in airplane mode when you don't need it for a while (i.e. Somewhere with no receptions, movies, sleeping, etc)

and for faster charging put your phone in airplane mode while plugged in.

Personally, you should do the following:

Disable 3G / 4G-LTE data whenever possible and connect to Wi-Fi instead
Lower your screen's brightness
Disable Location Services for any unnecessary applications
Disable Siri
Disable Bluetooth
If you have email synced, don't have it check for new mail as often
