Unlocking sprint iphone 5 but have contract with AT&T?

I have a contract with AT&T but got a sprint iphone 5, I want to unlock it but don't know how, I'm looking to legit unlocking but will settle using a website, I don't wanna buy anything like special SIM card holder etc, can anybody help

Can't be done. The SIM on the Sprint and Verizon iPhones WILL NOT WORK WITH A US CARRIER. They are designed that way. They are "global" phones. Since the rest of the planet doesn't use CDMA, you can't use Sprint or Verizon phones outside the US without paying outrageous international roaming fees, if you were lucky enough to get the phone to even work on a foreign network.

So, the newer smartphones from those carriers have a SIM slot. You take the phone outside the US and you can slip a FOREIGN SIM card and use the phone on the foreign local network at low cost.

Let me make sure you understands this: you can't unlock that SI and use it with AT&T. It will not work. There's no way to hack them to work, as far as I know. You need to change service or return the device to where you bought it.

  • Will factory unlocking my iPhone break its contract with my service provider? I bought the iPhone 5 for $199.It's on contract, so it's not only locked to AT&T for two years, but I'm required to pay monthly for the use of this phone for two years. I'm interested in buying the factory unlock on ebay, but I want to know if the contract is going to break with AT&T.
  • Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
  • Unlocking iPhone that was on contract? One of my friends is selling me his old iPhone 3GS. He was on a bill pay contract with 3 and I want to know is it possible for me to unlock this phone to meteor pay as you go? Also I'm irish, so not AT&T
  • Unlocking Iphone 6 under contract at at&t? We brought my phone in a shop and they told me to wait atleast 4 days. We've been waiting 5 or 6 days for it to unlock. It was under at&t and my grandpa gave it to me. I can't use it as I'm living in the philippines. Sim are not compatible. But until now phone still locked. Is it normal or do i need to panic? My mom's iphone has been immediately unlocked way back when 4s is the latest. But mine is just frustrating!
