Using gloves and being on my iPhone?

Why does wearing gloves stop you from being able to type on the iPhone? What's the difference between using my hand with or without a glove? Could be a very simple answer.

Surely you could figure this out yourself…

A thick glove will not work. Not sure if the information I was given was correct but the guy at the Genius bar in Chadstone Australia told me it has something to do with the pulse at the end of your fingertips (fingernails will not work). Styli designed to work with iPads should also work with the iPhone

I received gloves for Christmas so I can use my touch screen devices with gloves on. These gloves have pads with satain over the finger tips. They are available at many stores in the US You should be able to find them online if they do not have them in any stores where you live.

  • Winter gloves for texting and typing? I work nights and have to use a keyboard all the time. I also have an iPhone. I want to buy a pair of gloves in Delhi which I won't have to take off every time I use my phone or the keyboard. I apologize if I chose a wrong category
  • Why am I being charge for using data while I'm on Wi-Fi? I just got a new iPhone 5 and I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos while on Wi-Fi with my cellular data is off and I'm being charged for watching all of the videos. I have I only used data to look up 1 thing and I have used up 2 out of 3 GB in 2 days please tell me why. I'm on AT&T I have called AT&T and they did absolutely nothing.
  • When dealing with small electronic components, should I wear gloves? I'm going to replace my iPhone 4S Screen. Which requires me to gut the whole phone in order to get to the screen. I'm pretty confident that it will be successful. But I'm aware that my oils or static can destroy (i don't know) the components. Would it be a good idea to wear latex gloves or something?
  • Skiing gloves + touchscreen tech? I'm going to ski soon and i'm looking for gloves with touchscreen technology, does anyone have a link on amazon for this? I'm hoping it to be less than $25, keep my hands warm, and have touchscreen technology.
