What are some good tv shows to learn mandarin?

I'm learning mandarin, engulfing yourself in the language is a great way to learn, but I know no one who speaks mandarin, I'm not around those who do, and am often forced to stay cooped up in my office at a computer quite a bit. Are there any tv shows (children, cartoons, whatever) that would not be so over complicated to listen to as I do work just to immerse myself? I know I'm asking a lot, but I'd love to know your thoughts and any other suggestions. I'm learning using Rosetta Stone, a couple of apps on my iPhone, and other stuff.

The one cartoon i can think of (which is similar to Dora the explorer) is Ni Hao Kai Lan

You can find a Chinese-teaching website. They are teaching mandarin in a more systematic way. Or you can email me if want to practice mandarin through Skype. I'm seeking someone to do some language exchange to improve my English.a cartoon "喜洋洋与灰太狼(pleasant goat and big bad wolf) is very popular in china and its language is relatively easy. Hope I helped

Doraemon. They changed the name a while back so I'm not sure what it's called now.
McDull (film series)
Sesame Street (yes, there's a Chinese version)

Any news programs

Any film that catches your interest

There are a lot of dramas (romantic comedy, thriller, historical) as well. Usually, the one geared towards teenagers are better (minus any slang that they use) because the show itself tends to run slower than a thriller (you have to know what's going on) or a historical (you have to know time periods and the important figures and facts).

Listen to music and if you're learning to read and write, translate them as well (poems and classic lieterature are too hard). Actually, translating children's books are good too.

  • Would playing The Sims in another language be a good way to learn that language? I play The Sims a lot anyway. There's a lot of volcabulary like household objects, emotions, everyday tasks etc This wouldn't be my only way of learning btw. I also have a learning French iphone app and a friend who is fluent.
  • What is a good website or iPhone app to watch anime shows on? I've been a huge anime fan for a couple of years. On Netflix i've watched a ton of shows like, Baka And Test, Black Butler, Angel Beats, Rosario + Vampire, etc. However, there are many other great animes that are not on Netflix such as Bleach, and Naruto. I've searched for websites, but they're all in Japanese, i can't understand. What is a good english website, or app, to watch anime on?

  • Japanese: Good places to learn Kanji? こんにちわ‼ I need help with learning Kanji. I know Hiragana and Katakana already. If there's a free iPhone app that's good, that'd be above all fantastic! Or even a really good website would be great. I want to be able to learn Kanji within 2 years max by myself.
