What can I do about my internet?
In my small print it says I should be getting a minimum of 3mbps. When doing a speed test on my ipad, iphone or laptop, I get around 3.4. On my PC, however, I get 2.4mbps. Should I be using a wired connection? I tried using some TalkTalk Homeplugs that came with my youview box, but it made no difference… Should I try a hard wire connection or are homeplugs the same?
You generally never get exactly what you pay for. I pay for 50 mb service, and get around 42. I buy a 500 gig harddrive and get around 490 available. Also, when you're testing matters, as there are more people on during different hours of the day.
If you have multiple devices connected to internet the bandwidth will split between all of them.
The "TalkTalk Homeplugs" are not homeplugs, they are filters and need to be installed in each telephone socket. You then plug your landline phone into the filter and your modem into the other hole.
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- What is the oldest Mac Computer I can get that can have internet and play DVDs? I'm not really much on computers, so that is why I'm looking for something cheap, but still can have internet and play DVDs, and also if it can run videos as well. - My Iphone is not letting me access the internet or internet based apps? I have an Iphone 5. Never had any issues but now it won't connect to the internet or any apps. It does the same thing it does when I have no service (just has that little circle symbol that means it's trying to get through). Orginally, I thought it must be a universal problem but everyone else has service and they are in the same location as me. Also I always use my phone here with no problems. I have tried turning it off and on again but nothing.
