What do I need when taking my iPhone to Manila in the Philippines?

Since my friend wants me to stay with her, how do I keep my iPhone 4S charged since the voltage in the Philippines is likely different than in the US? I may stay up to 2 weeks.

Will Internet and texting connections be clear?

Take it back to where you bought it or to a cell shop to have it unlocked.
Check the charger to see if it will work on 220 volts. Most do. If no chargers here are very cheap.
You might have to buy a sim card here so you can use the local service - NO CHARGE for incoming text OR phone cards.

The voltage here is 220VAC at 60 Hz. Look at your charger and see if it says 100-240 volts. If so, then no problem… For your info, the plug pin arrangement is 2 flat blades like in USA.

You will not have any need for your iPhone in the Philippines. You may even get it stolen.

I suggest you buy a cheap "throw away cell phone" since you will only be calling and texting locally.

Keep your iPhone in a safe place and save it for your return trip back home.
