What happens if i reset my iphone 3gs?

I have an iphone 3gs, and i want to take restrictions off bc my mom was playing with it and put a bunch of things in restrictions, with a passcode that no one knows. I'm thinking of resetting it, but i don't want to lose everything and find out it didn't even take restrictions off. So a) will it take restrictions off? And b) will i lose everything?

First you go In to settings.iCloud tab. Then back up your phone. OR plug into computer, press restore iphone. Then it will ask you if you want to back up your phone. You press yes. Then when the phone is restarted iTunes will ask you what back up you want to use. But if you chose the iCloud way, when you have reset your phone, you connect to Wi-Fi and you would use "iCloud restore " option. Give it a few minutes and there you go.

What would happen to my iphone3Gs if i reset?

I have jailbroken my device and used terminal to change my MAC address so that I could connect to school's Wi-Fi. But when I wanted to change it to its initial number, I typed in a wrong value and it just messed up my Wi-Fi, I can't connect to Wi-Fi anymore. Wonder if resetting to factory settings would help…
