What iOS does the iPhone 5s come with?

Does the iPhone 5s come with the most updated ios? Or does it come with the factory iOS?
Or does it just depend?

The iPhone 5S originally comes with iOS 7 but when you buy it, it will depend. If you buy from Apple Store it will be updated to the latest version, most stores are supposed to have the iPhone updated to the latest version. But it will depend if you buy from somewhere else, the Shop might not update it but it most probably and should be in the latest iOS version. And right now the latest is iOS 7.1.2.

My friend recently bought an iPhone 5 (not from Apple store since it's discontinued) and it was updated to the latest version (iOS 7.1 that time). So it is most probably be in the latest version.

And BTW you can update to the latest version if it's not updated and the iPhone 5S will also be getting iOS 8 update once it comes out for everyone. And if you are planning to Jailbreak then Pangu has a Jailbreak for the latest version of iOS 7 and you can also get Evasi0n for iOS 7.

Since the 5s is the most recent apple phone next to the 5c it will come with iOS 7 and be up to dade. But depending on when the phone was manufactured, you may need to update the software just to fix minor issues.
