What is amazon trade in bassicly and why are the prices cheaper when you click amazon trade in?

I looked at a item in amazon and it was an iphone 5c for 379.99 and when i clicked amazon trade in it was 200.00 why is this?

Buy low, sell high is what retailers do. If they can get them for $200 and sell for $380, they have a $180 profit.

Same thing car dealers do. They'll give you $2000 for a trade-in, and you'll see the car on the lot the next day for $4500. That's how they make money.

  • Why won't the iphone 4 and 4s prices go down? I thought they would after the iphone 6 and 6 plus were released but they're staying the same on amazon. They are actually going up. When will they drop?
  • Why does F0CAN05NY3.TO no longer update daily prices? Historical prices are correct? TD REAL RETURN BOND - A (Ticker: F0CAN05NY3.TO, GOOGLE: TDB108). The daily price has not updated since Dec. 6, but if you look at historical prices, they are all there and match the Google numbers. The iPhone finance app (which uses this ticker symbol) also does not update this item.
  • Why can't I click and drag music onto my iphone anymore? I just updated some software, and now my iTunes library is just songs I purchased through iTunes. After adding songs I legally downloaded else where and opened with iTunes, I can no longer just drag and drop the songs onto the "iPhone" tab. Why? Any solutions would be great. Leaving for a 20 hour road trip by myself and can't let iTunes erase my music first…
  • When you double click the home button on iPhone? A row of previously used apps appear, are they running the the background and using battery life? Or is it just simply showing your latest used apps?
