What is Bluetooth on the iPhone?
Ok so I got my new iphone and I notice that Bluetooth is turned on… What is Bluetooth and what does it do? What will happen if I turn it off? If I turn it off will I save battery?

Nobody uses Bluetooth anymore to be honest. But you can use it to send pictures and music to people wirelessly.
Nothing bad is going to happen. If you turn it off, it's just off lol. When its on, people could send music/pictures to you that's all. It will probably save battery so I would turn it off. But its good for sending stuff phone to phone for free x
BlueTooth is a wireless way to share Data, play music, talk on the phone, etc. All wirelessly.
BlueTooth 4.0 (Found in most new vehicles) will allow you to play music through your stereo wirelessly, also will allow you to take phone calls and talk through your car stereo without even touching your phone, via a microphone in the vehicle, and output through your stereo speakers, or through a handsfree headset.
Other ways to use BlueTooth are through wireless speakers, which will play your music, video sounds, basically any audio through speakers that connect wirelessly with no cables. There are many things to do with BlueTooth, but it's plain and simply, a way to transmit data wirelessly.
It is not necessary for the iPhone to function, and will save your battery if you turn it off, it is definitely a power hog when it's in use. You'll find your iPhone turn on your BlueTooth capabilities after system updates, so make sure to turn it off if you're not using it.
