What is the ios version of iphone 5 right out of the box?

It depends on when the iPhone was manufactured, it has the latest firmware that was out when it was manufactured. For example if the phone was manufactured today it should come with iOS 6.1.3.
Depends on when the iPhone was made. When it comes out of the factory, it has the latest version at that moment in time.
For example, I got my iPhone 5 from the first batch made, so mine came with iOS 6.0, but if you buy a new one now, it should come with iOS 6.1.3.
