When you reset your iPhone's settings. Does it erase anything like pictures or videos?
My dad has tons of videos and pictures and he was trying to get a software update but he couldn't because he has a iPhone 3. I told him to reset his settings so that he could get the update. Now he won't let me because he is scared they will all be delete.
For the record there's no "iPhone 3".
Resetting the Settings would not delete content.
Erase all Content & Settings would delete content.
(as their names imply)
Either way though resetting the settings on an iPhone 3G/3GS would not get that phone anywhere as far as updates.
If your dad has an iPhone 3G/3GS it's time for an update, an iPhone 3 model won't be able to update to any of the current IOS's, so you are better off just getting a newer model iPhone
