I would definitely go for the HTC One, the htc one is very likely to win phone of the year in many different award platforms. Just by comparing the specs side by side, which you can do here: - I can clearly see that HTC One totally defeats the iphone 5 spec wise. But not only does it defeat it spec wise the HTC One 5 looks way better then the Iphone 5, the design of the iphone 5 is dried out, its the same from the iPhone 4 and 4s.

So go for the HTC One.

I can only speak from experience. I have had the iPhone 5 since May. It's a very easy to use phone and Apple is known as (probably) the best.

I sell phones at a small electronics retailer, and have not sold many HTC's but have sold plenty of iPhones. I do know you'll be happy with an iPhone if you have never had one.

I would look online for some reviews of both phones to read a little more about them.

When it comes down to it, it is a matter of opinion. All the techno whiz guys say the HTC one is much better than the iPhone 5. I would agree with them. When the iPhone 5 came out it was a pretty big disappointment. People were expecting the latest and greatest and Apple spat in our face by doing nothing more than adding one more row of apps, and even then people say that is a stupid idea because now it is bigger and doesn't fit in your pocket as easily as an iPhone 4S would. HTC phones were not doing very well in sales. They were not a super popular brand, so in a last effort to make a top phone, they spent the extra money to produce the HTC one. With the dual forward facing speakers and full metal body, people went running for it and now some say it is actually the number one phone in America currently. If you are looking for speed the HTC one is the way to go. With its Snapdragon QUAD CORE processor running at 1.7GHz and 2GB or ram, it is much much faster than apples puny little A6 dual core processor running at just 1.2GHz, 1GB of ram. Now if you want a smaller and lighter phone than the iPhone 5 is the phone for you. Coming in at just 112g, it is a little smaller than the HTC one weighing in at 143g. Now as I stated before, it is a matter of preference. But my suggestion would be the HTC one. There are many more specifications to look into if you would like to better educate yourself. However if you have a hard time choosing between the two phones, there are many many more out there, such as the Galaxy s4. Great phone! Many very cool little tricks it can do.
