Why does my iPhone 5 battery die so fast? - 1

I have an iPhone 5. My battery lately has been dying really really fast. Over the past three or four days, it's gotten to the point of me having to charge it three times daily just to keep it from dying completely.
1 year ago, I got a new battery installed because I was eligible for a free one. Now, I'm not eligible anymore.
I would like to know why this happens, because my sister's iPhone has a normal battery life, and she's never had to replace her battery since getting the phone. We got the same phone about a week apart, and we both charge it overnight (I know it's not that good) but why is mine constantly in need of battery replacement and hers never is?

Batteries all have a lifespan based on how many charges, but you could have the apple store put one in pretty cheap and it woudl be like new again. Then again if contract is up why not trade it in and upgrade and it would be like a free upgrade almost.

I can think of possible issues that's happening with your iPhone 5:

- It's starting to malfunction for whatever reason…
- Could be a faulty unit.
- Apple replaced your battery with other second hand battery instead of new or maybe didn't even replace it.
- There's 500 battery charging cycle. You probably have used them all without realizing.

You could try back up everything and restore your iPhone, though this process may not always guaranteed to rectify the issue.

It's probably best to visit Apple genius bar again for them to have a look. Worse case scenario is to say good bye and invest a new iPhone.

Seems like you need to get a new battery for your iPhone.

There could be many reasons for battery drying out fast but unfortunately there's only one solution. But I'm surprised that your battery did not lasted 1 year which you got from Apple. I don't think Apple would give a bad replacement battery.

Did you upgrade your iPhone recently? I mean, when have you started seeing this problem? The thing is, it doesn't happen overnight. You battery hold charge for 20 hours. Then it goes to 17. Then 10.

But if it happened suddenly, there's something wrong with the software.

And if this happened in the fashion I mentioned above, then I'm sorry to say, you need a new replacement battery - costs $9-$15.

Buy with a fix kit so you can replace it yourself and save another $10 or so.

  • Why does my iPhone Die so fast? It lasts about 30-40 mins on a 100%? I have a 4s I charged it for the night Then go to school with it It dies completely in about 30-40mins Was wondering if I should get a new battery
  • Why does my iPhone battery die so fast? I have boost magic, which is supposed to help my battery last longer, and I kill all my apps when I'm done using them. I go from 100 at 8am and I'm at 60 by 9:30am. And I hardly use it too, just to look up information quickly and I just set my phone aside. I let it go down to 20% battery and let it charge over night. It just started doing this recently. I also keep my brightness to pretty much 0 with the auto brightness on. And it still dies fast. What can I do?
  • Why does my iPhone 5s die fast? Every time when my iPhone get to 100% I wait 5 more minutes and than when I unplug it it stay at 100% for 1 minute or 2 and than it goes to 99% and 98% is that normal? And that happens sometimes when I wake up and unplug my phone
  • Why Does My iPhone 5S Battery Die So Fast? It is already 10:10am and my phone is at 65% ALREADY! Why is my iPhone dying so fast. I haven't even been using it that much.
