Why does my IPhone5s keep restarting over and over again? - 1

My IPhone just randomly started doing this today. I picked it up and all I saw was the black background with the white apple logo, then it shows my lock screen and in 3 sec. Goes back to the restarting screen. And it just keeps on doing that over and over again. I haven't been able to use my phone. I just got it 4 months ago and I don't know why its doing this. I have been dropping it a few times though which might have damaged it a little, but I don't think that would be the case. I was able to import all my photos so I didn't lose them which I was grateful for… But, its still keeps restarting. I use my phone a lot, and I have probably about 1 MG left in it. Please help me if you know what the problem is, thank you.

Have you ever dropped the phone in water before? This exact problem happened with my sisters phone a couple months ago. We took it to the Apple store and had them look at it and they said that it was water damage that had fried her phone, even though the only time the phone had ever been in water was 7 months prior when she dropped it in a shallow puddle. Try taking it to the Apple store and see if they can reset it. We ended up having to buy a new phone because there was nothing they could do to fix it but they should be able to tell you what's wrong with it and if it can be fixed or not.

Try to put it in recovery mode and restore it, or in dfu mode and restore it. These are achieved by pressing the home and lock button for about 15 seconds until the connect to iTunes screen pops up; and dfu is achieved by connecting the iPhone to iTunes, pressing both buttons for 10 seconds then releasing the power button until iTunes says it detected an iPhone in recovery mode, it should be a black screen on the iPhone.

If this does not fix it and the Apple staff at an Apple shop determine it wasn't your fault, they should replace your phone with your 1 year warranty. If you dropped it in water or opened it or did anything that voids your warranty, then they'll just offer to repair it.

Taking your phone to the repair store, if your phone is out of the warranty.

  • Why does Netflix keep pausing and playing over and over? I'm using it on my iphone 4. And I have checked my connections over and over I've uninstalled reinstalled, signed in signed back and everything else that the troubleshoot website has recommend. And it's gotten annoying. It didn't start doing this as much until I updated the app before the ios 7 release. I'm currently using the trial for netflix and my laptop doesn't work so I can get it on anything but my phone.
  • Why does my phone keep restarting and then dying? My phone (I have an Iphone 5s) suddenly died and then restarted. It died before it could restart and then started to restart again. The cycle keeps going on and on. I don't have an old battery and worked perfectly until now out of the blue.
  • Why does my iPhone keep restarting? I have an iPhone 6 and it has the newest updates and stuff. Recently it's been restarting 1 to 3 times a day. I'll be using my phone when it just goes to the black screen with the apple symbol on it. I have no idea why it's doing this. Anyone know?
  • Why do people's iPhones keep restarting? Okay so for the past couple weeks my iPhone has just been like restarting when I'm on it. Well it just thought it was mine and then tonight I was on tumblr and there was this post about it and it was like, "reblog if your iPhone has been restating recently" and there was over 55,000 reblogs so that's a lot of iPhones restarting. Why is this happening to everyone?
