Why does phots flip when you take a selfie on iphone and other stuff?

Is this how we look like to other people?

A camera sees you as other people see you,
not as you look to yourself in a mirror.

Photos should not "flip" anything. You're used to only seeing yourself in the mirror - which IS a flipped reflection. Therefore when you see an unflipped version of yourself in a photo, you appear to look odd, but that's how the world sees you. To test this, take a look at a photo of yourself. You look odd right? Now, how about the other people in the shot? They look normal right? Of course. However, ask them and they'd say that they look weird in the shot. Cameras don't usually make you look odd and keep everyone else looking the same as the normally do.

There's an exception to this, and that is wide angle distortion. Use a wide-angle lens for close people shots, and yes, everyone will look distorted. That's what happens when you use a smartphone instead of a real camera. All smartphones use very wide angle lenses which create a lot of distortion. So, never before have the teenage society been so perplex as to why their selfies look like garbage.

The solution is simple, put down the phone and pick up a real camera and learn how to take portraits.

Devolution at it again?

Photos do not flip. You simply have to reorient yourself from another perspective. If you can't figure that out by yourself, your wasting your time in school.
