Why don't people save their money?
It annoys me when people always buy the new iphone even though their iphone from the previous year works perfectly well. I don't understand why people can't save and invest in something that builds their assets like property or stocks. What is the point of working hard, then blowing it and going broke again just to buy consumer goods that depreciate like expensive. I'm 20 years old in university and the thought of going broke terrifies me so as a result I have managed to save thousands of pounds.
Why should what other people do with their money bother you?
It's not the popular thing to do these days.
Interestingly enough, everything that is poor judgement or weaking thinking IS popular. Getting into major debt to get an education, even before you get your first job. Having a cell phone (and the monthly bill) even though it's possible to live without that.
Payday loans, reverse mortgages, using credit cards for buying a piece of bubblegum. That's what the majority does. They still believe in magic.
It's ironic that even in a time of economic depression, people don't use much wisdom with their money. Guess it would have to become a major depression before they would wise up? Maybe not even then though. My dad lived through the 1930's depression, and he told me that he would go through the alleys and collect garbage for their hogs. He said that many people were very wasteful then.

Keep it up. Sadly, our society is run by corporations who heavily promote spending on useless things. Our economy is based on debt, and the system can only keep running as long as people spend more and more and more all the time. This system is going nowhere fast, and if you are able to withdraw yourself from it then you are ways ahead of most other people. I know exactly how you feel, it blows my mind seeing what people around me spend their money on. If only they understood that real happiness can't be bought and that less material possessions actual make you feel more free. Anyways, keep it up, when all your friends are running their credit card balances higher, you'll be able to buy a home and have a financially stable life, and then they'll wonder why they can't have that too.
- Why people like iPhones? I can't never get people who like iphones to give a good reason, why? Some say it easy, but a lot have no clue on how to use their own phones. Can someone explain something useful that great about iphone? Everything they think is special other phones have been doing for years.
- Why don't people just listen to music on their iphone why buy a ipod? I know some mobile devices aren't good with organizing music but the iphone is good with that so why?
- Why do poor people care more about their image and buying nice clothes than feeding their family or paying bills? I see tons of poor people who make less than 20k a year spending their entire income on nice clothes and shoes and purses and makeup. Their children are starving they can't even afford to use the air conditioner or pay for electricity but they absolutely need to buy a new iPhone or a new pair of high heels
- How to save money/stop spending money? I want to get an iphone 5S and at my phone company they are like $585; my paycheck is usually $100 every other friday (if i work enough hours)… How can i keep myself from spending money until i get $600? (i'm not an adult yet, i'm sitll 17 so bills and other stuff isn't a problem}
