Why is my generation so dumb?

I turn 19 here in a few days, and I never realized how dumb people are until now.

My friend got a new credit card a while ago when he turned 18, and kept bragging about it for days. After about a year he now has a $27,000 debt. He said he did not know he had to pay it back. But thank goodness he has his new beats headphones and new iPhone

This girl who I barely know from high school on my Facebook got a new visa card, she posted a picture of her visa card on her Facebook? I mean even I know better than that… Are people that stupid to be lacking common sense or what?

Added (1). I hate people who talk like "dis cuz dey thnk itz kewl and stuf" its not cool. Its annoying, amirite?

It's just young people in the States. Was not too different in the 80s and 90s I guess.

I'm 20 and I know it's not our whole generation lol. People do things without rhyme or reason. I have friends that find themselves in debt but still have expensive things like you're talking about. Some people just don't know better. Everyone has to go through experiences (good and bad ones) to learn. It's just apart of life. It's not stupidity lol. Common sense is obtained with experience. Weird how I just saw that girl post on a visa card on Smosh. Wasn't aware she was your friend? Anyway, yea alot of people just think about seeming cool without the consequences of someone stealing their info.

Trust me, it's every generation. There's graffiti from teenagers and young adults in the ruins of Pompeii that sounds just as stupid as the "for a good time text" bathroom graffiti nowadays.
