Why is my iPhone 5 battery dying so fast? - 1

I don't charge my phone overnight because that causes the battery to die quickly during the day, but at night I charge it until it is at 100% and then I go to sleep. I don't use it or anything. Then I wake up and it's at 60% and I didn't use it. This never use to happen it only just started.

Turn off push technology and bluetooth in the settings area

Maybe because you over charge it?

The default settings have a lot of features turned on that most people never use. You may want to google some articles on how to make the battery last longer, but some of the ways to do it include disabling Siri and location-based services. You might also want to disable automatic mail updates and check your email manually. Disable Airdrop so your iPhone isn't always looking for other iPhones.

Because it's an iPhone. The main goal of any cell phone manufacture and business should they wish to be admired by their patrons is to have the greatest focus on FREEDOM! This entails coverage and how long one can use his or her cellphone until it dies. So let's talk battery. Once upon a time, I had an Palm phone that averaged a lowly 5 hrs talk time. However, that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Why? Because I had a save. I had 2 extra batteries and 2 charging docks for home and car and the Palm had a battery access cover. When the battery was near death I had a save. I can replace it. Ta Da! New phone. That is: FREEDOM!
Today, I have a phone whose battery lasts 2 days. In addition, its battery is also removable and I purchased an extra battery and charging dock for $44 on Amazon. Should I ever forget to charge my phone and need to skedaddle I have a save… Unfortunately there was no saving my overpriced dead iPhone when it died. But it did make great paper weight I found.
But I do believe that eventually Apple will address this when they figure out how to use it as a profitable selling feature. Personally, I strongly feel that if Apple made their next phone with either a removable battery and or a battery big enough to last 18 hrs and not raise their price, they would double their sales. What say you?

  • Why is my IPhone4s battery dying so fast? I've had my IPhone 4s for a little over a year, and I charge it every night and when I wake up it's at 100%. When I take it off the charger, it starts going down. I wake up at around 9 AM every day and by 1 PM it's already at like 40%. I still have the old software (haven't updated to I0s7 yet) and have like 2,500 pictures so is that maybe why it's dying so fast? Please let me know!
  • Why is my iPhone battery dying so fast? I just bought an unopened iPhone 4S, because I prefer the smaller phones, and the battery drains in less than 5 hours. The phone was never used before, but is the age of the phone the reason it's dying so fast? Will replacing the battery make a difference? As those are old as well even if I but an unopened one. bought* My previous iPhone 4S is just as old, but was used constantly. And that has much better battery. Lasted two days, even if being used a lot.
