Why is the texting green now on my iphone 3s it should be blue?

You are most likely not using iMessage. IMessage is only used when you are texting someone with another Apple Product.

It turns blue text when you text someone using iMessage (Iphone, Ipod or Ipad) and green is when someone using a non Iphone phone

If you are using iMessage. It send blue when imessage on both end have a good connection. But if the message send green it means its being sent as SMS text message. Because either you or the other person don't have good connection to receive it through iMessage

Try going to settings>messages>iMessages should be on. All iPhones you text will be blue any others will be green.
