Why won't my iphone 3gs activate?
I just updated it to iOs 5 and whtatnot and now its not activating. It says " your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailabe. Try connecting your iphone to itunes to activate it and i did but it says no sim card founded and i do have a sim card, an at&t one and i try resetting the phone to restore it but no progress!
Sometimes the Activation servers are down… The best thing you can do is wait a couple hours and try around 10:00 when not as many people are online. You can also call 1-800-MY-APPLE or you can call AT&T at 1-800-331-0500. Hope I helped!
1. If you are attempting to activate via iTunes, disconnect the USB cable from your device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off your device by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears. Slide the slider and wait for the device to turn off.
If you can't turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you the "Connect to iTunes" screen appears. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see a "recovery mode" alert.
6.Use iTunes to restore the device.
