Why won't my iphone personal hotspot connect to my laptop?
I don't have Wi-Fi in my house (don't even ask) and i connect to the internet with my and my parents' phones. I've recently upgraded from the iphone 4s to the 5, and while the personal hotspot from the old one worked fine on my laptop before the new one just doesn't connect to my phone.
My dad's also got the iphone 5 and it connects fine to his, but when mine shows up on the network list and i click on it says 'checking network requirements' and then 'can't connect with this network'. On my dad's as soon as i click on it it prompts to enter the network key with no problems. The diagnostics page is no help, can somebody help!
and by the way i'm on a samsung windows 8 laptop.
It could be you have to pay extra to connect them via hotspot? My phone is on contract and i pay for my Wi-Fi, but it doesn't allow me to use it as a hotspot, it says i have to pay more.

Mine was doing the same thing and finally figured out that the password my computer had saved at some point was different than my current hotspot. So I right clicked the hotspot in my network connections, clicked forget, then clicked connect again which forced it to asked for my new password. That worked for me.
- Will it cost me if I use 'personal hotspot' from my iphone to my laptop? I have an iphone, and my Wi-Fi just went down so I was wondering if it would cost to use that 'personal hotspot' thing onto my laptop because I want to watch netflix, and in not doing it on my phone (screens small) Oh and I have unlimited data (3G) and my providers I think are EE.
- Why won't my xbox 360 connect to the internet but will connect to my iphone hotspot? Ill play cod bo2 almost daily and my xbox will connect to my mobile hotspot on my iphone 4s fine, but out of no where it will lag out and disconnect me from xbox live, its not a hardware issue everything connects normally, full bars and everything the phone still lets me get on the internet, but my xbox will not, why D:?

All other devices such as laptops, phones and tablets connects just fine. I tried connecting it to my iphone's hotspot and it works. I tried to unistall and reinstall the wireless adapter but still won't work. I also tried to reboot the router and even tried to change the channel but still failed to make it work. Do you have any other way to make it work? I have windows 7 on my desktop.
