Wi-Fi thru iphone want use with wii?

I have Wi-Fi thru my iphone as a hotspot and it works great with my other devices but is not with the wii. It will notice it as an option to select but for some reason is not recognizing my security password. Is there something I'm missing? I go to setup a new wireless device find my iphone in the list of options but when put in password it gives me an error message. Any ideas?

Okay I hope I understand your question correctly. You can't use your iphone to 'relay' a Wi-Fi signal -> connect to a Wi-Fi network and use it as a hotspot at the same time.
