Will a Magic Jack (Voice-Over-IP) be compatible with a Google Nexus7 tablet?

Magic Jack (Voice-Over-Internet), inexpensive device that offers "free" phone service and attaches via USB port to desktops, laptops, iPhones, and other devices.

It's requirements are that the device has a USB port, with an operating system of 4.0 or newer. Magic Jack is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

For people with iPhones/iPads, (tablets, etc. That don't have a USB port). They can download the Magic Jack App for free and it's supposedly compatible.

But I've just spent quite a while on "live-chat" with the Magic Jack people, asking them about the compatibility of the Magic Jack App on the Google Nexus 7 tablet. The Nexus 7 has a 4.2 OS, running 'Jellybean'. Direct competition to iPhone.

Question:

If the Magic Jack (Voice-Over-Internet) device and/or application is compatible with an iPhone or iPad. Can I safely assume it is compatible with the Google Nexus 7 tablet?

Not really. Jelly bean may be direct competition to the iPad, but that fact still remains that it uses a different OS, and thus different file types. Apps designed for the iPad do not always make it onto the Android market, and vice versa, or at least not for a bit of time. Then throw on top of that that some apps are not compatible with certain devices or Android versions (being as Jellybean is still very new). As much as I love Android, it's not really a safe assumption.

Though their website doesn't seem to mention it, I did find a beta Magic Jack app in the Play Store, with reviews where people say it is working for them on Android devices. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the Nexus 7, it installed fine on mine, but I don't have an account I can use to test it.

In theory, yes, you can use the Android version of the app on the Nexus. See FAQ at http://service.liveperson.net/hc/s-61732089/cmd/kbresource/kb-6026705148207100440/view_question! PAGETYPE? The support people at MagicJack really "should" know. If they do not, ask them to research it and contact you once they find out.
