Will an 8GB iPhone 4s be enough memory?

I'm due to get a new phone and my dad won't fork out for an iPhone 5/5c/5s, but he said he would get me the iPhone 4s - the 8GB one. I had an ipod touch 4th generation (recently met a watery grave) and the 8GB one was plenty for that. Bearing in mind i used that for EVERYTHING except phoning/ texting people. A couple of hundred songs, over a thousand photos, a fair amount of apps and loads of books- if 8GB was enough for my ipod will it be enough for a phone (with contacts and everything?)

No, its unlikely it will be enough space. I find it hard just to keep 12 months of photos taken with the camera before running out of space. You will most likely need to keep photos and songs on a separate drive. I use these: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=640

obviously you need a PC/Mac to transfer files across.

  • What do I do when I run out of memory on my iPhone 4 8GB? I have about 20 or 25 apps… 260 songs. That's about it and I only have 2GB left. I add like 10 songs a month but if I keep it up I will soon run out of memory. Will I have to buy a 16GB iPhone 4 and sell my 8GB or is there some way I can get more memory installed?
  • My iphone 4 8gb memory is filled up? I have about 200 pictures, 0 music, 20 apps that barely take up space. How in the world is my 8gb filled up? Is it because of iCloud? I need to know because this is freaken bullcrap.
  • Just traded my iphone 4 16gb for ps vita 3G with 8gb memory card? I also threw in 4 ps3 games 1 xbox 360 game a pc game and an ipod touch 2g 8gb which is uselesd but Is that a good thing? Who got the better end of the deal?
  • Is 8gb memory enough for an Iphone? Looking to get a new phone. Don't want anything too expensive so going for an Iphone 4s, but I can only find 8gb models. Considering I'm never going to have music on it, is 8gb enough for a few apps, games, data etc?
