Will setting my iphone to its original settings get rid of my contacts?

Yes!
As long as you have synced your contacts, apps, photos and calendars to iTunes or the cloud you won't lose anything since you can just resync everything after setting it back to the original settings.
How to back up your iPhone via iTunes:
1)Make sure under Settings, Mail, iCloud is unchecked of everything (contacts, calendars, etc)
Manual way of Backing Up:
1)Right click on your iPhone under the devices when Synced with iTunes
2) Select Back Up
Restoring From A Back Up:
1)Connect your iPhone to a computer
2) Right click on your iPhone under the devices tab
3) Select Restore from Back Up
- What will happen if i restore my iPhone to original settings? Every time i hook my iphone up to itunes it says i need to restore it to original settting but will i lose my photos and other stuff? My bad it is factory settings
