Will you buy the next iPhone even if it has no headphone jack? - 1

Nope, never

Yeah

No, but I haven't bought any of the previous ones.

Never have bought one of their products, never will.

They plan on using the lightning port, thats a huge upgrade over the headphone jack. Much thinner and gains back space inside the iphone for other things. Just like when they got rid of the old pin chargers, they do things to upgrade for the future, there's a reason…

If my wife wants one especially if it comes unlocked for all US carriers including Google Fi, like another person answering I have seen blog posts about them making a smaller earbud jack.

Yes. Don't really use it anyway so that change doesn't affect me.

No. Never cared for Apple's proprietary hardware to begin with. I prefer open source where there are industry standards. If they drop the headphone jack, their will be a huge backlash. The headphone jack is the industry standard on every device around the entire world. And it has worked perfectly fine for passing true CD quality sound.

If Apple uses the Lightning connector, the problem becomes how do you charge your phone at the same time while listening to music. And how do you use your already perfectly good working headphones that have a headphone jack. The rumor is that Apple would force you to buy an expensive adapter to utilize existing headphones.

This would be wonderful as now do you get to pay a whole lot extra on a proprietary adapter that no one else would have to buy using any other phone, but you now get to lug that adapter around wherever you go.

As you can see it would completely defeat the purpose of having a thinner iPhone. And that alone has already caused the iPhone to have the worst battery life of nearly any smartphone.

Android phones offer substantially better battery life already.

  • What is the newest iPhone out that still has the headphone jack? I'm thinking of getting a new phone but I'm not particularly great with technology so android seems to be too difficult for me. I'm looking at getting another iPhone but from my understanding it seems there's no newer ones with the headphone jack and i'm not willing to purchase one without it. It's a big money scam that they removed it. What is the newest one out that still comes with the jack?
  • Somehow, a huge piece of the headphone jack got stuck in the headphone port, and I can't find any I think the headphone type is just a normal iPhone headphone. So ground, audio, mic and some of the plastic, or whatever it is, around it, got stuck in there, and it's not super deep, probably because it's almost the whole headphone jack, but it's still in there. Someone please help! I can't find anything! It's just the headphone jack tip that got stuck for everyone else! It's a laptop.
  • Should I fix my iPhone headphone jack or buy Bluetooth headphones? I have an iPhone 3GS that has a broken headphone jack so I can only get volume out of one side. Should I get this fixed or should I buy bluetooth/wireless headphones. The repair costs $60 and most wireless headphones are at least $100. Would it be worth the money for good headphones rather than the repair. I have only used cheap $20 headphones before. Any links to good Bluetooth headphones at a decent price would be appreciated
  • My iPhone 6s Plus has a damaged headphone jack what's a fair price for the repair? There are a bunch of iPhone repair places near where I live, one estimate is 50 bucks the guy needs to replace the cable port as well… How much or how easy is a do it yourself repair I probably need the new part as well
