2000 photos and 23 gb occupied?

My friend has 1000 fotos and it only takes up 1.7 gb I have 2k (2000) and it takes up 23gb. What can I do to have it take up less space on my iphone

His photos are in a smaller resolution or are better compressed. You can't do anything on iPhone to make them smaller but downloading a third party app and reducing the resolution when taking pics. Videos however do have the opion to choose smaller definitions in settings/photos and camera and there you can choose from 4k( on the 6s), 1080p and 720p with different fps.

if you have a 6s try turning off live photos if you don't care about this.

Maybe you have long or many video recordings and didn't notice the iphone counts these to that size and that's what makes it inflate so much and his isn't counting that.

Nothing. The pics are the collective sizes they are. What you should do is put them on a computer/cloud storage to free up the space.

It might be because the photos you are taking are of huge resolution and if you need some advanced security, Leo Privacy would be the best.
